The Weibel/current filamentation instability is common in many astrophysical and laboratory scenarios. The features of the radiation associated with the electron dynamics in such scenarios are relevant for the interpretation of astrophysical observations.
In this work, the self-consistent radiation of the plasma electrons in the Weibel turbulence is explored with 2D and 3D fully-relativistic PIC simulations using OSIRIS 2.0, where the instability is probed since its onset until the saturation phase.
The spectrum of the radiation is determined using a post-processing radiation diagnostic that uses the particle trajectories to calculate the radiation they emit. We explore the spectral features of the radiation as the instability evolves in time. We also compare scenarios with electron/positron vs. electron/protons plasmas, and explore the effect of the higher energy beams. Finally, we study how the inclusion of the plasma dispersion affects the spectrum signature of the instability.
