Nanoscale Charge/Spin Correlations in Spinels
Dr. Sang Wook Cheong, Rutgers
http://www.physics.rutgers.edu/people/pips/Cheong.html
Recent experimental results have demonstrated that nanoscale clusters with spin/charge/orbital correlations can plan an essential role in determining macroscopic physical properties of complex materials. We will discuss a beautiful, representative example of octomer- and hexamer-type correlations in spinel CuIr2S4 and ZnCr2O4, respectively.
