M Theory and Matrix Mechanics
Dr. Stephen Shenker, ITP & Rutgers
We present an overview of some of the developments of the past few years that have dramatically increased our understanding of string theory. These developments have led to a new unifying framework called M Theory. We go on to discuss proposed nonperturbative definitions of M Theory that involve the quantum dynamics of matrix degrees of freedom.
