The Galaxy, Its Stellar Halo and Its Satellites: Insights from a Hybrid Approach

I will discuss the formation of the Milky Way and its satellites in a cosmological framework. In particular, I will focus on what can be learned on the chemistry and dynamics of the Galactic system using a hybrid approach combining high-resolution cosmological simulations with semi-analytic models of galaxy formation.
